Ask for us to provide proof of our insurance policies, and we’ll be more than happy to. In fact, we love it when customers ask for this, because it’s in their interest to and it helps reinforce what should be the norm in our industry, but, sadly, is often not.
Never trust a cleaning company that won’t provide you with proof of insurance. Better yet, call that insurance company and make sure the policy is up-to-date and has appropriate coverages. Many cleaning companies don’t carry insurance. However, while we’d like to believe everyone plays fair, the truth is that many of them will lie and tell you that they do. They do this because most customers don’t call them on it. We encourage you to.
Keep in mind that a company’s lack of insurance is what puts you, the customer, in a bad position. It means that scratches on your windows, broken glass, or other forms of property damage aren’t covered by the company doing the work. It could mean that you’re liable for workplace injuries to their employees in your home.
